The HCG Diet plan is arguably one of the best ways to shred those extra pounds for good. By now, you already understand how the whole thing works, but you are probably not sure what meals you are allowed to prepare, and what ingredients you are allowed to use. We will help you plan your HCG diet menu because we know how important it is to successfully plan and cook meals. Because lunch and dinner usually consists of the same amount of food, we will list several recipes that can be prepared for either and will supplement your weight loss injections.

But before we do that, let’s take a look at the Original 500 calorie HCG diet menu as instructed by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. This excerpt can also be found in the manuscript “Pounds and Inches”.

Breakfast: tea/coffee without sugar. One tablespoon of milk allowed every 24 hours. Stevia and Saccharin may be used. 


100 grams of chicken breast/white fish/crab/lobster/veal/beef or shrimp. You must make sure to remove all visible fat from the meat. You are allowed to boil or grill the meat. Herring, dried or pickled fish, tuna, salmon or eel are not permitted. 
one vegetable type out of the following: onions, red radishes, spinach, chard, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, asparagus, cabbage, cucumbers or chicory. 
Melba toast/one breadstick
one apple/orange or a handful of strawberries

Dinner: the same as lunch

 Because every human has different needs, the original menu may suffer minor alterations. In the end, it is more important to maintain the health of your body by giving it what it needs. Several nutritionists suggest dieters to consume 700-800 calories to supplement their HCG injections for weight loss. They also talk about two phases of the diet in their HCG diet reviews:

1. HCG Diet Phase 1: commonly referred to as the ‘loading days’, this period is designed to ease you into the program. During the first 1-2 days you are allowed to eat as much as you please. Specialists urge people to eat whatever they think they will be missing while on the diet. You are also advised to choose a stable time for your HCG weight loss shots

 2. HCG Diet Phase 2: You will start phase two of your diet on the third day. At this point you should wake up feeling that you couldn’t eat any more food even if you wanted to. Most people lose around 1- 1.5 pounds a day. The second phase diet abides by Simeons original instructions. There is also a version from Kevin trudeau for the HCG diet which increases food intake during the first three days, but lowers it for the next ones. He also talks about phase 3 and phase 4. Phase three involves normal menus that consist of healthy foods, while phase four is also called the post HCG Diet maintenance phase which should be accompanied by weight loss drops. 

Here are all the things that you are allowed to eat during the died. If there is something missing on the list, that is probably because you are not allowed to eat it:

Proteins: crab, shrimp, lean beef, chicken, white fish, lobster.

Fruits: apples, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, grapefruit and lemons

Drink & others: herbal tea, water, Melba toast, sugarless gum, mustard, braggs liquid amino, Steevia (national sweetener), Apple cider vinegar, natural herbs.

Vegetables: all kinds of spinach, lettuce, chard, cabbage, onions and tomatoes, radishes, celery, asparagus, cucumber, fennel.

Despite the fact that Dr. Simeons does not explicitly request BIO food for his HCG diet, it is always a good idea to purchase natural produce that has no additives and preservatives. More and more supermarkets are expanding their fruit and vegetable selection so you can definitely find something worthwile.

To make the died process more bearable for you we have selected several recipes that you can experiment with:

  • Menu plan 1: 3 oz Lean ground beef, liquid aminos/soy sauce, lettuce leaves, tomatoes, apples,2 Melba rounds.
  • Menu plan 2: 3 Oz grilled chicken, garlic and other vegetables that you enjoy.
  • Menu plan 3: 3 oz Shrimp with lemon juice, asparagus (seasoned according to taste), grapefruit and one bread-stick
  • Menu plan 4: 3 oz Tilapia Filet with lemon, 3 oz steamed mix greens, lemons, strawberries and one breads tick.
