Fiber takes time to get digested which means that if you have eaten almonds, you’ll be full for longer periods of time which means that your appetite will be suppressed. This is why most people keep handfuls of almonds with them and eat it during dieting. It can help curtail their appetite and the fiber keeps them content. Almonds however have calories so it is better not to overdo on them. Have almonds in moderate amounts about two to three times a week.

Macadamia – The Least Obvious Choice
They are high in carbs and have the most number of calories. Macadamia nuts also have fiber in them but since their calorie content is high, it is best to stick to another option rather than opt for macadamia nuts. In some countries, these nuts are also the most expensive ones so it is not really worth spending money on for weight loss, especially if you have cheaper and better options at hand like almonds or cashews.

And Walnuts…
Walnuts have more calories than almonds but less than macadamia nuts. Their protein content is also high and fiber content is normal. However, their sugar content is lower than most nuts which is good for those who are diabetic but for weight loss purposes again, almonds are the better choice. A handful of almonds is what you need, not a handful of walnuts.

Brazil Nuts
They have the least amount of sugar but the calories are not that less. Brazil nuts though are very appetizing and also have the ability to keep your hunger at bay. Nonetheless, you need to be careful to not have a lot of them. That is the thing about nuts. You cannot overdo on it or eat a lot of it. You have to take extra care to just have little by little and that too not on a daily basis. Even almonds, the best of the nuts, have to be taken in moderate amounts for appetite suppression.

In weight loss, the key to everything is appetite suppression. If you have suppressed the appetite, that means you can easily stay away from food and control your cravings and follow your diet. What could be better than that? And what could be better than the thing that helps you do that? Nut are pretty terrific in appetite suppression.
