Like every other diet, the HCG diet also has its recommended foods and those foods that you most likely have to abstain from through the course of the entire process. Do not worry, the foods in the HCG diet are pretty flexible. They will not tell you to eat only meat or eat only vegetables. You have a vast selection to choose from but the only thing to be wary about are the portions. Do not overdo it and make sure to keep calorie count. You cannot pass the calorie limit that has been set for the diet and for you. Here are the foods you can have:

  • Meat – You are allowed to have red meat as well as white meat. Some dieters actually develop a liking for beef when they have it in the diet. Be sure to make the calorie count. Do not let the portion get above a hundred grams because you need to divide your meals equally to keep away from the hunger pangs. You can have chicken as well. Make sure you have this for lunch or dinner though. It is not good to have it in breakfast. Seafood is also included in the meat part. If you are fond of fish or even the lobster and crab, the HCG diet food list does not stop you from having it.
  • Vegetables – Now, you can have all sorts of vegetables, especially the green leafy ones. You can have cabbage, celery, lettuce, spinach and many others. You can have the tomato and broccoli too. Cucumbers have almost no calories in them and are a good source of keeping your stomach full. It is better to stay away from starchy vegetables such as the potato but having it once in a while isn’t so bad.
  • Fruits – you have to be careful about this category. Unlike the vegetables and the meat, you have a lot of restrictions on the fruit you can eat. It is allowed in very minute portions due to the sugar content and only about four to five fruits are approved in the HCG diet food list. They are strawberries, apple, orange and grapefruit. That is about it!
  • You can have milk but not more than half a glass.
  • You have to drink ample amount of water.

The HCG diet has a lot of benefits to it. As you can see, almost all the important and essential foods are allowed in the diet so that there is no nutritional imbalance while we are losing weight.
